In a modular wiring-device range, a switch or socket insert is only one part of the finished installation. Frames, covers, chassis and surface boxes may be separate items, and compatibility should be confirmed before they are combined in a project schedule.

Build a component list

List each function, number of positions, frame or cover style, and whether the installation uses a recessed or surface box. Identify which components are included in the quoted item and which need separate item codes. An illustration of an assembly does not prove that every part is supplied together.

Confirm system compatibility

Ask for a compatibility table or assembly drawing pairing each insert with its frame, cover, chassis and box. Check fixing method, dimensions, module spacing and required depth. A similar-looking component from another series may not fit or align.

Plan by location

Group the functions and accessories required at each project location. Where several colours or plate styles are needed, record the finish against each item code instead of applying one colour note to the complete order.

Resolve before sampling

  • Which parts make up the finished assembly?
  • Which frame, cover, chassis and box are compatible?
  • What are the dimensions, fixing centres and installation depth?
  • Are surface and flush installation components different?
  • Can the supplier provide an assembled sample and itemised list?

OUBEN’s PERFECT catalogue includes modular functions and accessories such as covers and surface boxes. Confirm combinations by drawing and item code; do not assume every insert works with every frame or box.
